Mini Kitchen Makeover
When we first walked into our home I fell in love with the space! The house wasn’t exactly 100 percent my taste but I knew with my furniture, some paint, and new light fixtures I could easily make it look like home.
Not everyone can afford to remodel or has the time to do a full DIY project. (Although I definitely always want to do both). Paint is magical y’all. And I found some very affordable light fixtures and I think the two of those combined made a huge difference! Until we can afford, or have the time to do a full makeover, this is perfect for us!
So first, kitchen cabinets! The cabinets were a dark wood tone and it just wasn’t my taste. I have always dreamed of a white kitchen. Then as we started choosing paint I started to fall in love with the mushroom cabinet look. Our painter could only do sherwin williams colors so I found the color Agreeable Grey and I am in love with how it turned out! Our entire home is painted Sherwin Williams Extra White. The white walls with the beige cabinets makes me so happy.
Then we added some Amazon Hardware and viola. Our kitchen cabinets had a full facelift without any gut jobs or hardcore DIY. One day I’d love to replace the backsplash and possibly expand the cabinets to the left of the fridge, but for now this works perfectly.
Now for pendants! I was toying with the idea of doing two large or three smaller pendants over the island. I chose the three smaller glass pendants because I felt they really opened up the space and loved how the gold matched the cabinet hardware. Also, they were Amazon lights and so affordable!
Then add some cute furniture and decor and you’ve got an affordable kitchen makeover!

Been away for awhile…
I’ve had this blog post saved in my drafts since February 19. I lost my brother a week later. So this blog was put on halt for obvious reasons. 7 months later I’m feeling that creative itch again. Writing and sharing things I love can be a good distraction. I wanted to share this video I have of one of the last times my baby brother was in my kitchen. On my baby girls first birthday. I want to always remember his voice and his laugh.
