My Beautycounter Picks
I have been using Beautycounter products for a couple years now and have slowly been adding to my collection. I started when I was pregnant with my second because nothing makes you more conscientious about what your putting in and on your body like becoming a mother. I fell in love with the company because of how many toxic ingredients they ban, the quality of everything I’ve tried and also their mission to change the beauty industry to make clean beauty accessible to everyone! Soooo with that being said here are the products I use and love.
Skincare
Cleanser - I love this Countermatch cleanser because it removes all my makeup so well and leaves my skin feeling sooo soft. It doesn’t have any harsh ingredients that leave my skin feeling too tight or dry.
Moisturizer - this Countermatch moisturizer is the perfect pair with the cleanser I use. Gentle on my skin and leaves it so smooth and doesn’t feel too heavy.
Serums -
I use this hyaluronic acid, plus vitamins C and E serum after my moisturizer in the morning. It just gives my skin that extra moisture that I love and I feel like it makes my makeup go on better too!
After I use that in the mornings I use the all-star fan fav Vit C serum that is so skin correcting and brightening! Trust me on this if you buy nothing else you have to use this!
Every other night (or if you’re just starting out every other OTHER night) I use this overnight peel. (I am copying this from the website because I can’t say it any better than they can) “AHA/BHA peel improves skin texture and boosts clarity without irritation or over-drying. With glycolic, malic, and botanically derived lactic acid, the formula clears away dull surface cells, while arginine and essential fatty acids help soothe to reveal a brighter, healthier looking, renewed complexion.” This and the Vit C serums are the two products I started with that made me fall in love with the products.
On nights I am not using the peel I use this anti-aging serum. Beautycounter uses a safer plant-derived alternative to retinol that is safe to use while pregnant and breastfeeding (another reason I switched to these products!!)
Supplements - Ok and then once or twice a week I use a couple masks! A morning mask and an evening mask. The morning one I use is the AHA smoothing mask. Trust me when I tell you after you take it off you will immediately notice a change in your skin. Shiny and smooth!! It’s truly amazing. Then a couple times a week after washing my face I use the charcoal mask. This has done WONDERS for my pores! I also use it on my armpits to detox before I switched over to use Beautycounter’s clean deo.
Makeup
When I first bought makeup at beautycounter I did their flawless in 5 where you chose your shades in 5 of their most popular makeup products and when you bundle them like that you get like a major discount! So if you’re interested in stocking up definitely go that route.
Foundation - I am shade Medium 340. This foundation is full coverage, not heavy, not too shiny or too matte its perfectly moisturizing and blends so well with my skin you can hardly tell I’m wearing makeup which I love! If you’re unsure about color try looking at the pictures of the women they show wearing each shade and decide who you most resemble. Or try to go off what color you’re currently using from a different brand.
Setting Powder - Sooo many setting powders include talc which is a toxic ingredient that has many lawsuits out right now. Ours of course does not. But works just as well as any other product on the market. Except you can feel good about it.
Concealer - I am color fair 2. And with 20 shades you’ll definitely find one to match! It covers so well and is hydrating so your under eyes don’t get dry throughout the day.
Blush - this is probably by far my favorite makeup product of theirs. I loveeee the colors. I also use it on my lips! I am currently using bright rose but I also love the color chai.
Eyeshadow - I loveee their liquid eyeshadow. Its so pretty and shimmery and I also use it as a highlight on my nose and cheeks! I use color luster. I also like the color ember for the creases or outer corner of my eyes.
Brows - I am color light neutral. This is perfect for if you just want to add a little extra color and volume to your brows!
I know that is a lot of products. I did not switch over in one day it took almost a year to be honest! I started with supplementing the Vit C and overnight peel to my regimen I had already. Then switched out my cleanser. Then my moisturizer. Then my foundation, etc. It was a process. Switching over to clean products has been a journey for me. It is absolutely not attainable or necessary to do it all at once so give yourself grace if you’re also on this clean living journey. It’s also all about balance! I still use some products that aren’t 100% clean!
